The 2024 VW Tiguan is receiving significant updates for the European market. It replaces the outgoing standard-wheelbase, two-row Tiguan in Europe. The new Tiguan features a curvier body design with a more organic and muscular appearance. It is built on VW’s modern MQB Evo platform with a similar wheelbase to the previous model. The trunk capacity has increased by 33 liters. The interior boasts a new dashboard layout with a large tablet touchscreen, physical steering wheel buttons, and a rotary controller. Two PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) options are available with up to 62 miles of electric range due to a larger 19.7 kWh battery. The PHEVs have different power outputs, one with 201 hp and another with 268 hp. Mild hybrid and AWD options are also offered, with various engine choices.AWD models feature modified 4Motion hardware to reduce vibrations. The Tiguan will be available in Europe starting early next year, with an estimated base price of around £32,000 / €35,000. The U.S. will receive a different SUV based on the Chinese-market VW Tayron as its Tiguan replacement.
