The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, tested at the DirtFish Rally School in Washington’s Snoqualmie Valley, is an electric crossover designed for off-road performance. Building on the Mach-E’s previous success, this new model features dual electric motors delivering 480 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. It includes underbody protection, a revised front splitter, a rear spoiler, and rally-inspired wheels. The suspension is lifted and tweaked for off-road use, while adaptive magnetorheological dampers adjust ride stiffness.

In practice, the Mach-E Rally excels on gravel, with the RallyCross drive mode allowing controlled slides and quick acceleration. On the road, it retains agility while offering a softer ride compared to standard models. However, these enhancements reduce its driving range to 265 miles, down from the GT’s 280 miles, and it starts at $61,890, making it the most expensive Mach-E variant. Despite the lower range, it supports fast charging, including Tesla’s Supercharger network. The Mach-E Rally is praised for its engineering and off-road capabilities, positioning it as a unique and appealing option in the electric crossover market.
