The Tonale is a pivotal vehicle in Alfa Romeo’s transformation towards a lineup of zero-emission models by 2027. Alfa Romeo’s recent sales figures indicate the urgent need for improvement, with declining sales trends across different regions.

The Tonale SUV features a bold and modern design with unique ‘3+3’ full-LED adaptive Matrix headlights and Alfa Romeo’s famed Scudetto grille. The interior is well-equipped, with a 12.3-inch Connochiale digital instrument cluster, modern infotainment screen, and comfortable seating.

The infotainment screen utilizes Uconnect5 software, offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and features physical controls for the HVAC system. The Tonale’s second row is surprisingly spacious, but some elements like the door panels feel cheap.

The Tonale is available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to a 48-volt 0.8 kWh battery and a 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor. While the hybrid powertrain performs well in electric mode, the transition to engine power can be jerky.
