The Cybertruck, which began production deliveries in late 2023, has been a long-awaited model since its announcement in 2013. It is available in three trims:
Base Model: Single-motor, rear-wheel-drive, starting at $61,000 (available in 2025).
Dual-Motor AWD: Starting at $80,000, offering 340 miles of range and a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds.
Cyberbeast: Starting at $100,000, boasting 845 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds.
Design and Reception
The Cybertruck’s design is described as a “giant, sharp, stainless-steel box,” which elicits strong reactions—people either love or hate it. Its appearance has led to social pressures for drivers, as the vehicle attracts significant attention, making the driver acutely aware of others’ perceptions.
Driving Experience
Despite its controversial looks, the driving experience is generally positive. The interior is likened to a serene home theater, featuring a minimalist dashboard and comfortable seating. The truck’s maneuverability is enhanced by features like four-wheel-steer and steer-by-wire technology, making it easier to handle than typical large vehicles. However, the heavy accelerator pedal and regenerative braking can make driving in traffic cumbersome.
