The Renault 5, an electric supermini, is highly anticipated for its combination of advanced technology and driving pleasure at an affordable price.
The production model will stay true to the concept’s retro-futuristic design with minor cost-effective adjustments. Design features include redesigned LED lighting, restyled bumpers, smaller alloy wheels, and conventional door handles. A performance-focused variant by Alpine is expected to resemble a hot hatch with rally-inspired features.

The Renault 5 will measure around 3.92m long, positioning it in the supermini segment. Sustainable materials, with a modern and minimalist dashboard design, are expected to be used extensively in the cabin. The Renault 5 will introduce the new CMF-BEV architecture, promising best-in-class performance and handling. It will feature a single synchronous motor mounted at the front with contradicting rumors about its output.
Two battery capacities of 42 kWh and 52 kWh are expected, with the latter offering an electric range of up to 420 km. The Renault 5 will face competition from electric superminis such as the Peugeot E-208 and Opel Corsa-e, with more rivals in the pipeline. Automakers aim for a starting price below €25,000 to make EVs accessible, with leasing options also likely. The Renault 5 is set for market launch in 2024, replacing the Renault Zoe while the Clio continues as an ICE-powered alternative.
