McLaren has recently unveiled the stunning 2025 Artura Spider, a convertible supercar that boasts significant improvements over the troubled coupe. The Spider’s powertrain has been thoroughly upgraded, featuring a 3.0-liter TT V6 PHEV system that delivers an impressive combined power output of 690 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed DCT gearbox, enabling the Spider to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. The 7.4 kWh battery provides an EV-only range of 21 miles, making it an eco-friendly option for city driving.
To enhance the driving experience, McLaren has made several revisions to the Spider’s transmission calibration, engine mounts, and brake cooling ducts and engine airflow. They have also introduced a new “Spinning wheel pull away” function that ensures a smooth and safe start on slippery surfaces. These enhancements will soon be available on the coupe as well.
The Spider’s power-hard top is beautiful, taking just 11 seconds to open and close with precision. It can accommodate up to 31MPH. With a starting price of $273,800, the 2025 Artura Spider is a remarkable supercar that combines style, performance, and sustainability in one package.
