The Audi RS Q8 and Lamborghini Urus have shared a twin-turbo V-8, but the Urus has typically held a power advantage—until now. For 2025, the RS Q8 introduces a new Performance model with 631 horsepower, only 26 hp less than the non-hybrid Urus’s 657 hp. The hybrid Urus remains the most powerful with 789 hp.
Introducing the Audi RS Q8 Performance
The 2025 RS Q8 retains its Quattro all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine. The regular model delivers 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The Performance model upgrades to a new exhaust system that is lighter, louder and reduces back pressure, boosting output to 631 hp and 627 lb-ft. An optional RS sport exhaust enhances the sound further. Audi claims the RS Q8 Performance accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, though previous tests suggest it could achieve a sub-3.0-second run.
Performance Features
Both RS Q8 models have a height-adjustable air suspension, with the Performance variant receiving revised tuning. Standard features include 48-volt anti-roll bars and four-wheel steering, which enhances agility and stability. The RS Q8 Performance can be equipped with 23-inch forged wheels, reducing unsprung mass by about 44 pounds, and features 10-piston front calipers. Carbon-ceramic rotors, measuring 17.3 inches in the front and 14.6 inches in the rear, are standard on the Performance model.
Restyled RS Q8
The RS Q8 features a revised front end with a new bumper, prominent air intakes, and a more porous, three-dimensional grille mesh. The Performance model’s grille has a matte finish. It also includes Matrix LED headlights with optional high-beam laser lights and five customizable daytime running light signatures. OLED taillights with five selectable light signatures are also introduced.
Interior and Design Options
The Performance trim offers different standard paint colors and exterior trims, with matte gray accents on side mirrors, front spoiler, and rear diffuser. Optional matte carbon or glossy black finishes are available. Inside, red or gray RS design packages offer contrasting stitching on various elements, with microsuede covering the steering wheel, shifter, and center console sides. The RS design package plus extends microsuede to door panels and center armrests and adds colored accents and embossed RS logos on seats.
Advanced Features
The RS Q8 features a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, known as the “Virtual Cockpit,” which includes an exclusive shift-light indicator in manual mode.

Audi has released details for the European market, with sales starting this month. U.S. details and pricing are expected soon. The previous 2024 RS Q8 started at $126,995
