The latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class is here, featuring an all-new facade that merges the classic sedan look with an enlarged interior set-up and state-of-the-art technologies.

The new, W214-generation model carries a signature, three-box design as opposed to a more futuristic appearance, in an effort to set itself apart from Mercedes-Benz’s other midsize sedan, the EQE. The updated model’s wheelbase is roughly one inch longer than its predecessor, allowing second-row passengers more room. It’s available with two different front ends: a sleek grille featuring vivid slats and a Mercedes-Benz emblem, as well as a sportier version with a large star motif.

Inside, the dashboard provides an immersive digital experience, with the MBUX infotainment system. In the SuperScreen package, the car comes with a third screen for the front passenger, which lets riders play Angry Birds, watch videos, and take photos with an in-car camera. The center console, meanwhile, includes two storage compartments: one is located on the column and the other resides under the armrest. The latter houses a charging port. The vehicle’s forward-minded technology juxtaposes its classic interior, which features leather upholstery, wood trims, and classic Mercedes touches.

Two versions of the new E-Class will be available at launch: the E 350 4Matic and the E 450 4Matic. The former is equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing 255 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. The latter model arrives with a turbocharged, 3.0-liter straight-six engine that can produce 375 horsepower. Both vehicles utilize a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which fuels up to 148 pound-feet of torque.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will go into production in the coming months, and it will become available for purchase by the end of this year. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.
