The 2023 BMW XM is a new two-row crossover with serious sporting intentions.It features an aggressive design, a big-power twin-turbo V-8 engine, and about 30 miles of electric-only driving range.

Pricing and Features

The starting price of the XM is $159,995 and it comes loaded with luxury features. Includes leather upholstery, 23-inch wheels, curved infotainment display, and driver-assistance features. A limited-edition Label Red model will be available for the 2024 model year.

 

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The XM is powered by a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and an electric motor, producing 644 horsepower. It reaches 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and offers responsive handling and a comfortable ride. Slightly slower than some competitors but still impressive. The XM has a 25.7-kWh battery pack and can drive about 30 miles on electric power alone. It can be fully charged in a little over three hours. Fuel economy is rated at 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway by the EPA.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The XM’s cabin is luxurious, with high-end finishes and optional vintage-look leather upholstery. It has a two-row layout and offers an optional geometric-patterned faux-suede headliner. The XM also features an optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The XM has a large curved display that serves as a digital gauge cluster and infotainment center. It runs BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5 software and includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a premium stereo system.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
